Why Mick's in Schools

It doesn't seem possible (especially to those of us sending the first of our babies to high school), but it's again time to be thinking about kidderz starting a new school year, and for some, the school year has already started.  In certain situations, parents need to think about vaccinations, to be in compliance with the school district's rules.

There is help out there, if you are looking for some tips.

In one area of the United States, several doctors and local businesses are partnering together to put on a free Back-to-School Clinic (with a donation).  Many other doctors across the nation are holding back-to-school workshops, offering helpful hints, recipes, and other information on how to make it an amazingly successful school year for your children.  Included in these offers is a free downloadable Back-to-School Guide.

There are businesses and non-profits around the globe that are helping supply children with items they need to attend school.  There are fun Back-to-School bashes at malls, TV stations running Operation School Supplies to fill busses to help the needy, and churches collecting bags and backpacks full of school supplies, so the underprivileged students and schools have enough.  Caring individuals can "adopt" a child in a different part of the world, and through their monetary giving, they assist that child in getting the clothing and materials needed to attend school near their village.

As I anticipate my daughter receiving notification in a couple of years, regarding a required vaccination for sixth grade, I am researching as much information as I can.  It is entirely up to parents, whether or not to vaccinate, and there are many differing opinions on the subject.  The best way to make a decision on any subject, but most especially with regards to our children's health, is to be informed.  For that reason, here is a list of links to help you make an educated decision:

~

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
   love her, and she will watch over you.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
   Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
Cherish her, and she will exalt you;
   embrace her, and she will honor you.
